BTS

BTS, an acronym for Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), is a South Korean boy band formed in 2013 by Big Hit Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Their name, meaning "Bulletproof Boy Scouts," symbolizes their desire to protect young people from stereotypes and criticism.

 

Their musical journey began with the album "2 Cool 4 Skool" in 2013, which included the track "No More Dream." BTS quickly distinguished themselves by addressing themes of youth challenges, mental health, and self-love, establishing a deep connection with their audience.

 

The group experienced a meteoric rise, notably with the album "Wings" in 2016, which topped international charts. In 2017, BTS won the Top Social Artist award at the Billboard Music Awards, a first for a Korean artist, beating renowned artists such as Justin Bieber.

 

Their rich discography includes albums such as "Love Yourself: Tear" (2018), "Map of the Soul: Persona" (2019), and "Map of the Soul: 7" (2020). Their single "Dynamite" (2020) marked a turning point by becoming the first track by a South Korean group to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

  • Suga (Min Yoon-gi): born March 9, 1993, lead rapper and producer.

  • RM (Kim Nam-joon): born September 12, 1994, leader and main rapper.

  • Jimin (Park Ji-min): born October 13, 1995, vocalist and main dancer.

  • V (Kim Tae-hyung): born December 30, 1995, vocalist and visual.

  • Jungkook (Jeon Jung-kook): born September 1, 1997, main vocalist and maknae (youngest member).

BTS has also been praised for its philanthropic commitment, notably with the "Love Myself" campaign in partnership with UNICEF, aimed at ending violence against children and adolescents.
